The "Yank-offs" Suck...They're Done???

The one thing the Red Sox have going for them...they have Jon Lester toeing the rubber tonight. Excluding Andy Sonnanstine, is Lester officially the worst starter in the AL East? No need to answer that. Hey, at least he's "gritty" out there......

How's the Kool-Aid taste now?

ill admit it, im nervous. i think everyone is. how can you not be? giambi & phil hughes are back, they just called up their #1 prospect, and the yanks have scored 88 runs in their last 9 games.

but, lester isnt as bad as you think. at least i hope not.

"Coco" asks...

Is that the same Melky that batted .368 in July, and is now batting .424 in August?

Oh my god! I am soo impressed! The Yankees went 20-7 against Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Baltimore and Toronto!!!! They are Baseball gods! No one can beat those teams!!!

Eponymous - read this (the August 7th post of the below link), that should shut you up for a while...

If that's the best you've got, then that's awful.

Kei Igawa doesn't start. If you really don't know who the Yankees 5-man rotation consists of, then this blog is the wrong place for you.

so because Igawa is not currently a starter for them, he cant be commented on? thats retarded and weak. comment all you want on tavarez. fact is, igawa has made 11 starts for that team and is an utter failure. while lester hasnt exactly been great since he came back, you could make the argument that hughes has been no better. id take lester for this season based solely on experience alone. hughes has made three starts and been rocked in 2 of them. as for the rest of the rotation, i would unquestionably take the Sox. do my research? thats the dumbest thing ever put on Win Column. Igawa only doesnt start because he is a failure. fact.

You're the only person in the country that would take Lester over Hughes.

Anonymous said...

whoever anonymous is is slow. hughes is nasty. good points buddy. i hope you get hit by a bus.

Chieftain said...

Hughes "does little but get hit". What???????

He's made 3 ML starts -- in one of them, he didn't allow a single hit!

In between his no-hit start, his first one was his MAJOR LEAGUE DEBUT (probably had some nerves, wouldn't you think?) and his last start was his first one in 3 months!!!!!

Mix in a clue - I'm begging you.

I'm not ready to take anyone over Lester but the guy just got back from CANCER! Is Giambi back from his steroids layoff?

When healthy last year, was Lester any better?? 4.76 ERA vs. 5.09 ERA. Or, should I point out that Lester's ERA was 7.66 in August last year...coincidentally, his second time around the league. Either way you slice it, Lester has proven that he can't make adjustments.

Who said anything about Giambi?? Who cares about him - he's a role player, as evidenced by the fact that he's going to platoon with Andy Phillips, Damon, Shelley Duncan, and Betemit. 5 players for 2 spots (1B and DH). You do the math.

Sox are still in 1st, are playing away from home, on the West Coast, no less... No need to worry. Seriously, the Sox will be fine. Why is everyone letting Chieftain rile them up? It took him until they got within 5 games to start talking serious. I would not pencil in Wang for an automatic "W" either...

Chieftain hasn't been this excited since he kissed his first dude.

Like I said earlier, I would not pencil in Wang for an automatic "W". Good day...

Everybody Wang Chung'd tonight!

A pet-peeve of mine is when analysts don't admit when they're wrong. Maybe my greatest pet-peeve in life.

I'm here to take my lumps about Wang's performance last night. Awful.

So go ahead, have at it...
