Will Mike Vick and Mark Cuban Unite?
Cue the United Football League (UFL)...
If you can recall a few months back, the UFL is a professional Ameican football league being organized by Bill Hambrecht, a Wall Street investor and former minority partner in the USFL's Oakland Invaders, and Tim Armstrong, a senior executive at Google. At it stands now, Mark Cuban has agreed to purchase a franchise for $30 million (reportedly in Las Vegas). Cuban has said that he believes that the league will fill its rosters with quality players that go late in the NFL draft, undrafted free agents, and/or players that are released by NFL teams (insert Mike Vick here).
Sports Illustrated's Peter King proposes the following in today's "Monday Morning QB"...
"I wondered this week if that new football league -- you know, the Mark Cuban league -- would take Vick as its marquee player. Don't scoff. Imagine the TV ratings that league would get with Vick quarterbacking the New York Whoevers on Opening Night 2009."
...Let's face it, Mike Vick's NFL days are virtually over. I mean, it's the Fed's that have charged him over the "Bad Newz Kennels". When indicted by the Fed's, the defendant's success rate (in defending himself/herself) is less than 5%. These are the facts. State charges can be beaten...federal charges are no joke!
Wasn't it Mark Cuban that explained Kobe's pending trail in the following manner...
"All press is good press."

Vick will plea bargain and won't serve a day in prison. Money talks. He'll be back in the NFL, no problem. Can you say "Ray Lewis?"
If he plea bargains, his NFL career is 100% over. The NFl views plea bargains as guilt. Thus, in the eyes of Roger Goodell, Mike Vick would be a felon.
The ONLY prayer Vick as of ever playing another NFL game for his entire career is to fight the charges, and beat them. And, if he does so, he will likely face MANY more punitive charges.
Vick's career ain't over for fighting dogs. Please. He'll play again.
He is all done.. the NFL (as well as the owner of the Falcons) are not going to have this guy on the field so that people bring these charges up.
Even if he fights and 'wins' this is going to hound (sorry for the pun) for the rest of his life/career..
