F*ck Tim Donaghy...Rot in Hell

Bill Simmons has long questioned Tim Donaghy's motives as NBA referee.

David Stern...why can't the same be said about you??? Is it because you have been too busy uncovering the NBA's "tanking" philosophy? Either way, the NBA is a complete mess!! Just wait until Donaghy starts ratting out other officials for suspicious activity (this is about to have HUGE ramifications)...

As 'The Realests' (http://therealests.blogspot.com/2007/07/tim-donaghy-is-psycho.html) point out, Tim Donaghy has never been a saint:

- In the summer of 2003, Donaghy initiated "a pattern of public harassment" that included yelling obscenities at the Mansueto's, following Lisa Mansueto around Radley Run golf course on his golf cart, setting fire to the Mansuetos' tractor, and crashing the Mansuetos' golf cart into a ravine."

- Donaghy was charged by West Goshen Township Police with disorderly conduct and harassment in June 2000. Court records show that Donaghy had a verbal altercation with his mail carrier.

- Similar charges were lodged against Donaghy in 1995. At the time, Donaghy was living in Havertown.

...One would think that such behavior may raise some red flags. After all, sports are businesses based upon integrity.

This Tim Donaghy case confirms that we won't see a professional franchise located in Las Vegas anytime soon! You can take that to the bank.

I heard today that the NBA had already hired a private investigator to look at this perv before this all happened.

According to the New York Daily News....

The NBA sicced a private investigator on disgraced referee Tim Donaghy more than a year ago, but then let him work games all season long anyway, friends and neighbors said yesterday. Hoops honchos had the investigator question neighbors and friends of Donaghy about what they knew about his gambling habits - especially his penchant for the Borgata in Atlantic City. The new revelations show the NBA was far more suspicious of Donaghy earlier than was previously known.

Per today's New York Times...

However, The New York Times, citing two unidentified people briefed on the investigation, that the NBA didn't know about Donaghy's betting or whether he affected the outcome of games until after the season.

...It's all going to come out in the end.

If Stern had ANY inclination that Donaghy was a crooked ref...and still let him officiate the Suns-Spurs series (aka, the championship), then Stern should be forced to resign.

If true, my beloved NBA can go no lower. If there's anything anyone can learn from Bud Selig (the worst man in sports), it's that you can't sweep the obvious under the rug forever. The truth will eventually make its way to the forefront.
