MLB Position Rankings
Because there is absolutely no sports news these days other than the Mike Vike investigation (a topic I have long grown exhausted from), I have compiled more rankings. On this Thursday afternoon, I can't think of anything else which will get our competitive juices flowing more so than an innocent (or not so innocent) list of baseball's top 25 all-around position players (all skills considered).
Ahhh, who am I kidding?? My lists are FACT. They are so thoroughly compiled that they don't allow any leeway for debate.

I'm not sure whether you are basing this on careers or just this year, but I disagree with a few choices. Andruw Jones is having an awful year, and at this point I would rather have Alex Rios in my outfield. Also if this list is based on just this year, Magglio has to be in the top 25. I also think that Holliday deserves to be in the top 10, and Adam Dunn, in no way belongs in this post.
It's based on everything, so careers definitely come into play. Andruw Jones definitely belongs in the top 25 - just watch the contract he gets this offseason...it's going to be huge. Similar to how Magglio's 1st half isn't enough to place him on the list, Andruw's 1st half isn't enough to drop him off the list (in all honesty, he may have an argument to be ranked even higher).
Without this half season, Magglio wouldn't even have been considered "honorable mention". He's made of glass (2004 & 2005). Also, Magglio had a BIG 1st half last year as well, only to follow it up with a subpar post All-Star. Let's see what he does this 2nd half before crowning him.
As far as Holliday, I sweat the guy. However, I don't have it in me to position him above the likes of Wright/Reyes yet. After all, he does play 81 games in Colorado. That must count for something.
This list is so awful, I don't even want to spend a minute of my time or a breath arguing with you. You have people in spots that blow my mind...but then again, I knew you'd have them there...which is why I don't want to even go there.
Smarten up. There are at least 5, yes 5, people on your honorable mention that should be in the top 20.
I'm not naming names....but I do assure you that Barry Bonds is 100% a top 15 player.
Definitely Griffey (if you really want to argue me on this, I could be persuaded...but i love Griffey) and Magglio. You said you were taking their careers into affect for the rankings. Magglio has had 6 monster seasons, and his numbers from 1999-2003 are naaaaasty. How are you going to discredit him for having his knee reconstructed for two seasons? He's as pure of a hitter as they come, and his numbers this year are insane.
Oh, and the fact that you're putting Mauer ahead of Pudge Rodriguez (the best catcher ever to play the game) just absolutely baffles me. Mauer has had one great year....while Rodriguez hasn't had a bad year since 1993....and I'm only talking offensively here. I'm sure you've seen his defense.
