Carmen is Ready for Football...Are You? (NSFW)

#2 LSU at Mississippi State ... Tonight, 8 PM (ESPN)

Game of the Weekend: #15 Tennessee at #12 California ... Saturday, 8 PM (ABC)

Sleeper Game of the Week: #19 Florida State at Clemson ... Monday, 8 PM (ESPN)

FYI...Clemson has the best RB combination in the entire country. And, yes, I realize just how good both Darren McFadden and Felix Jones are. CJ Spiller and James Davis are that good. Spiller is the most elusive player in the country, even more so than Steve Slaton (my preseason Heisman pick). Just wait and see - the proof will be in the pudding.

* Seriously, these are the 3 best pitchers that the Red Sox have??? Early October exit!! No joke...most of the contributors on this site could hit Curt Schilling's straight 86 MPH fastball.

Anyway, it must be crunch time -- yes, the Sox will still win the East...but, Manny is down again (surprise, surprise)...and the Sox suck when the games actually start to matter. Rest easy.

Last question -- are the Yankees "playoff starters" the best in history, or is the Sox offense just this bad? Embarrassing, to say the least.

The Real Competition on Saturday...

OK, what is the main "material" for this fine blog...chicks, sports and basically R rated humor... well, I'll try to combine two of them. As all guys know, this Saturday begins the best season for sports (and not because the English Premier League is heating up), but because College FB is unleashed starting Thursday. I have always been of the mind that College is better than the NFL for many reasons (including you can start watching at noon and not stop until 3-4 AM if there is a HI home game on)....but there is another reason as well. While the NFL has "dance troupes" (really chicks that would be on pole having.. well you guys.. strategically place cash in some area), the CFB cheerleaders have that air of attainability...so with that in mind, this week it is the SC 'song girls' v. The Vandal Cheerleaders...

Not really fair I know..

For all of the Golden Domers out there...

-1 for to ND for having the freaking leprechaun on there..

Is This Guy Serious?

Mark Schlabach of ESPN.com recently reported on the decline of the ACC football conference since taking in the Big East's big three: VTech, Miami, and BC. While the Big East has certainly replenished itself with the likes of Louisville and the powerful running attack of West Virginia, lets be honest here, Mark, there is not much left after that. Big East proponents will argue that the Rutgers program, too, has developed into somewhat of a national force in recent years. Not so. Two good years does not make a program, especially when Rutgers has been playing a notoriously easy schedule just to get into the top 25. Making a run at the BCS becomes slightly less legitimate when the only top 25 teams you play are West Virginia and Lousiville, with the balance of the schedule including only UNC, South Florida, Navy, UConn, Cincinnati, and Howard in 2006, and a nearly identical schedule in 2005. 2007, you ask? Oh yeah, real tough home opener against Buffalo, guys. What, Holy Cross wasn't available? Rutgers did make a decent run and got some media pub, but on a national level they would get absolutely dominated in almost every other conference, even by the Pac-10. So, this aside has led me to the conclusion that Mark Shlabach knows d%ck about college football. Now, onto my real gripe with Schlabach article.

Instead of talking down to the ACC merely because Florida St. and Miami can't recruit quaterbacks, how 'bout sending some props to the ACC for its underrated depth? First, Wake Forest won the league last year. Second, even though the 'Deacons return a ton of starters on both sides of the ball in '07, they are still going get dominated this Saturday at the Heights. BC is a force this year. Even with an extremely difficult schedule (Wake, NC State, Ga. Tech, Army, UMass, Bowling Green, Notre Dame, VTech, FSU, Maryland, Clemson, and Miami - I challenge anyone out there to find a tougher finish than those last 6 games), expect the Eagles to play in the ACC championship game. Further, while I predict complete domination of Notre Dame, the last five teams could all be in the top 25 by the midpoint of season. BC's answer to all of this? Matt Ryan, a crazy linebacker core, and two running backs who each averaged almost five yards per carry last year. A pre-season all ACC selection, Ryan threw for almost 3,000 yards last year on a bum ankle. If he stays healthy, he is a legitimate Heisman candidate. With the great prevent defenses of T.O.B. in the rearview mirror, expect BC to win games convincingly this year. And contrary to what Mr. Shlabach may think, the rise of BC and Wake is good for the ACC and college football. These teams are legit and this year will prove it. Miami and FSU may not dominate other ACC teams like they used to, but if they did, what would the conference look like? I think it would look a lot like the Big East - two dominant teams, and one overrated team who makes a run every couple of years (See Rutgers).

Which is the More Ridiculous Ride?

The battle of who has the stronger hand of PIMP JUICE...

By now, we've all seen Darren McFadden's car (his Arkansas red, Ford Crown Victoria...which sits on 26 inch rims). But, Darius Miles' vehicle has just now come to the forefront...by way of his midnight black Pontiac Grand Ville (from the mid 1970's).

So, my question to all of you is...

When taking in all factors, which car is more obscene? The obvious answer in Miles' ride, but one must consider that McFadden is merely a junior in COLLEGE. One can only imagine what he'll do to top this...when he's actually getting paid like a top NFL pick.

It's clear that McFadden takes the whole, "Go big or go home" mantra to entirely different level, as evidenced by his workout regiment (see bottom photo), his propensity for tattoos (see bottom photo), and his "lavish" style choices.

(And, for the record...despite what some readers may or may not believe, I have NO ill will towards D-Mac. I think he's a tremendous football player. I don't, however, think Arkansas can repeat last year's success -- even though they miss out on both Florida and Georgia this year. It's that simple. Why? Because Houston Nutt may be the weakest coach in the SEC, especially when you consider that he just lost his jewel of an Offensive Coordinator in Gus Malzahn...the new head coach at Tulsa).

USA Today Releases Its Preseason Coaches' Poll

1. USC
2. LSU
3. Florida
4. Texas
5. Michigan
6. West Virginia
7. Wisconsin
8. Oklahoma
9. Virginia Tech
10. Ohio State
11. Louisville
12. California
13. Georgia
14. Auburn
15. Tennessee
16. Rutgers
17. UCLA
18. Penn State
19. Nebraska
20. Arkansas
21. Florida State
22. TCU
23. Boise State
24. Hawaii
25. Texas A&M

* I have long nabbed West Virginia's STEVE SLATON as this year's Heisman. Speed kills! Teamed with the mobile Patrick White for another season, Rich Rodriguez's spread option offense is going to be dynamic.

** Breakout Sleeper: California QB NATE LONGSHORE. Not familiar with the name? You will be. When it comes to developing QB's, Cal coach Jeff Tedford is a genius. You heard it here...the Golden Bears are going to be nasty this year!

*** Want another sleeper that sure's to be a stud by season's end? Look no further than Clemson RB CJ SPILLER. For my money, this true sophomore is the most explosive player in the country.

**** Most underrated team in the country? In a word...Nebraska.

***** Most overrated team in the country? Michigan. Why? Because you shouldn't be ranked in the top 5 when you've lost 8 starters on defense. Want more? Lloyd Carr is the worst coach in the Big-10. Yes, the WORST in the entire conference. Mike Hart should have left after his junior year. Just watch his draft stock plummet as the season progresses. I promise. All Michigan has is Chad Henne. Nothing else!

Snoop Strikes Again

Granted, I agree with Les Miles 100%. When it comes to college football, the SEC is dominant. Intimidating, to say the least. Incredible. Countless perennial powerhouses year-in and year-out.

Florida (Urban Meyer). LSU (Les Miles). Auburn (Tommy Tuberville). Tennessee (Phillip Fulmer). Alabama (Urban Meyer). South Carolina (Steve Spurrier). Georgia. Arkansas. Say no more!!!

That's legendary. There isn't a single better conference in ALL of sports, collegiate or professional. Speed kills!!

With that said, I love Snoop's passion for sports (in particular USC...and, that's coming from an ND fan)...

"Who the f*ck is Les Miles? The SEC, we done played Arkansas last year Les, tore they a$$ up by 40 Les, they won your division last year, Les, b*tch-a$$ motherf*cker."

"Man, we're USC. We get Heisman's like my crew gets pus$$y -- whenever we want to."

Bottom line, that last quote is great -- going forward, this quote will be part of my regular "Rhody" vocabulary. However, Snoop requires a refresher...

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but USC was guaranteed a championship opportunity vs. Ohio State this past season until they CHOKED in their last regular season game...to UCLA, no less (your team's primary rival)!! You want to crack on Arkansas??? Hellooooooo, UCLA won 7 games last season (a team which was CRUSHED in the 4th quarter in their Bowl Game vs. a .500 and undersized FSU team). UCLA sucked! Entering December 2nd, USC determined their own destiny -- only to be embarrassed on national television. How's it go?? That's right..."big time players make big time plays in big time games." Tell that to John David Booty, who played one of the sloppiest 2nd halves I have witnessed to date (vs. UCLA) -- he looked like Tavaris Jackson in the pocket. Plain and simple, UCLA coach Karl Dorrell owned Pete Carroll on December 2nd. No excuses.

Yes, USC crushed Arkansas in the 2006 season opener. But, who was injured for that game??? You guessed it, Arkansas' ONLY offensive weapon...that being stud Darren McFadden (toe surgery)!!! Would USC still have won? Absolutely. But, no Pac-10 team with 2 losses deserves a championship opportunity over either Florida OR Ohio St. It wasn't...and shouldn't EVER be a discussion.

God, I can't wait for football weekends...

When Will Tim Tebow Show Urban Meyer's Daughter "The QB Sneak"?

Let me preface this post by saying that I go to bed every night praying that I'll never produce a daughter (whenever that time may come). For my sanity, I honestly would consider immediate adoption plans if such an catastrophic event were to occur. Believe me, it would be best for everyone involved.

With that said, The Big Lead (http://thebiglead.com/?p=2755) is reporting the discovery of Urban Meyer's daughter, Nikki (she's the brunette in all of the above photos). From what I understand, Nikki Meyer was 14 at the time of her father's hiring as Florida's football coach. Thus, Nikki is presumably 17 years old these days. As in UNDERAGE. For this reason, I'm going to respect all fathers across the country - and refrain from making any unnecessary comments. I've posted the pictures, so you can now all draw your own assessments.

These photos are going to haunt Urban Meyer forever. GATOR CHOMPS...

FYI...the Over/Under date is set on Nikki Meyer's 18th Birthday. Can I get a "push"?

Remember When We Went 8-4 During the 2005 Season....

...and beat Oregon in the Holiday Bowl? Yeah, those games don't count anymore. So everything you sacrificed during that season is null and void because a couple of douchebags decided to get paid while playing. Sound like fun? Just ask any member of the 2005 Oklahoma football team how that feels. The NCAA has declared that because of the actions of former quarterback Rhett Bomar and offensive lineman J.D. Quinn....Oklahoma must forfeit all of its victories from the 2005 season. Both players earned about $8,000 each for work that they actually didn't even have to show up to do. $8K????? If I'm the quarterback for Oklahoma football...I want at least $25K, a car, and as many girls stuffed into my apartment as possible. I hope they at least parlayed the $8K on a game that they were playing in.....or at least did something more illegal than not show up for work. That's a slap in the face to every single member of that organization. All the triple sessions, broken bones, sprains, extra hours in the gym....all for nothing. The real kick in the d*ck is that both of these players transferred to D-1AA schools and continued on with their careers....while Oklahoma is on strict probation until the 2011 season. That's buttcheeks. Both of these guys are complete jerkoffs. You have to be a real spiteful prick to get caught stealing $8K. Imagine what guys at Florida, USC, and Miami get for perks? I can't even imagine how much extra dough they reel in....but I can assure you it's more than $8K and they don't get caught. But Rhett and J.D. probably ran their mouths, and went cow tipping with some underage girls, and poof......porked the team.

What's the moral of the story fellas? There are two morals.

1) Cash is king. Stay liquid.

2) What the NCAA doesn't know...won't hurt them. Loose lips sink ships.

Les Miles Doesn't Discriminate....He Hates Everybody

Just to wet your whistle as college football season is bearing down upon us.....As reported by www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com in a recent interview on a Baton Rouge radio station, Les Miles basically sh*t on everything but the kitchen sink. His tirade included the weakness of schedule the Pac-10 nancies face and the fact that the Big 12 is a glorified Pop Warner league. Miles was so pissed off he even laid into his neighbor, going so far as to call her a brokedick excuse for an 11 year old girl...but I'll get to that later.

When asked about a hypothetical match up between LSU and USC in the BCS championship Miles had this to say....“I can tell you this, that they have a much easier road to travel. “They’re going to play real knockdown drag-outs with UCLA and Washington, Cal-Berkeley, Stanford — some real juggernauts — and they’re going to end up, it would be my guess, in some position so if they win a game or two, that they’ll end up in the title game."

“I would like that path for us. I think the SEC provides much stiffer competition.”

Miles went on to say:

“The Big 12 is a conference that might have two really pretty good teams, maybe four. I think the Pac-10 may have one or two really good ones. The ACC certainly, arguably, has some quality teams.

“I don’t think there’s any conference out there that has as many quality teams as ours.”

I couldn't agree with you more, Les. The SEC is, far and away, the best conference in the land...and I, for one, am sick and tired with the amount of respect those no talent, hack loser stiffs get in the Pac-10...in particular, USC.

Miles was so pissed off he flew off the handle attacking his 11 year old neighbor. Below are some of his comments...

“Never…and I mean never…have I seen such a thoroughly mediocre and pisspoor performance by a child in all aspects of her life as in Hayley Lafontaine. I’ve had the opportunity to watch plenty of kids in my life, but none have disappointed me–and the whole f*cking world, actually–than that little pigtailed bag of crapshit, Hayley Lafontaine.”

Well done, Les. She probably is a lazy piece of crap. All I know is that if the LSU players can show half of the moxy of 'ole Les Miles, its going to be a long game for whomever steps on the field with the Tigers.

Houston Nutt: Football Coach or Stalker?

Arkansas football head coach Houston Nutt's cell phone records indicate that he sent TV reporter, Donna Bragg, 1,063 text messages between November 30, 2006 and January 11, 2007 -- including one just 19 minutes before kickoff of the Capital One Bowl.

1,063 TEXT MESSAGES OVER A SPAN OF 43 DAYS!!!! That is nearly 25 text messages sent to a single individual per day. Unbelievable! And, the best part...Houston Nutt is married (his wife's name is Diana) -- but, not to Donna Bragg.

In his defense, Nutt has said the following:

"My communications with Ms. Bragg have concerned her work as a professional fundraiser for a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to the developmentally disabled, her insights regarding the media, words of condolence and support regarding the loss of my mother-in-law after her battle with cancer, and information relating to her close friend who was diagnosed with cancer."

Is he serious with this response??? This guy is a joke - on and off the field (if it weren't for Darren McFadden, Nutt would already be out of a job).

But it gets even better -- as Diana Nutt (his wife) released the following statement:

"I have lost track of the false allegations against Houston and the number of resignation/firing deadlines that have come and gone ... And no, Houston has not had an affair with [Fort Smith news anchor] Donna Bragg! Houston has always been a man of very high morals and integrity. He has always been the best father and husband and has strong Christian values! I think it is pathetic that I am even having to address issues like this."

As you can see, Diana's head is clearly in the clouds! Step one...denial.

What is it with Arkansas higher-ups (see Bill Clinton)? As the saying goes, "the entree always tastes better with something on the side."

While It Was Freezing Here

As a college environment, USC is on a whole different level...

While New England was hit with freezing downpours this past weekend, USC hosted a fundraiser for physically challenged athletes. As part of the event, there was a swim race between Pete Carroll and Will Farrell.

And as you would expect, the USC "Song Girls" stole the show when they all changed into bathing suits, took part in an intertube relay, then modeled bikinis designed by Pete Carroll's niece.

These events/pictures simply guarantee football and basketball (see OJ Mayo and Lil' Romeo) dominance at USC for the next decade. There is no better marketing ploy!
